The production capacity layout of the silicone rubber industry continues to optimize, and the synergistic effect of the regional industrial chain is highlighted

2026-02-20

To cope with the global market demand growth and regional industrial division adjustment, the silicone rubber industry accelerates the optimization of production capacity layout, fills the regional supply gap through new and expanded projects, improves industrial chain supporting facilities, and promotes the formation of a coordinated development pattern of "core production areas+regional supporting facilities". In recent years, numerous silicone rubber projects have been intensively approved for construction in various regions. These projects generally focus on universal and modified silicone rubber products, with large total investment scale, advanced technical equipment, and strict environmental standards. The aim is to enhance the regional supply capacity of silicone rubber raw materials, reduce downstream enterprise procurement costs, and shorten the supply chain cycle.

From the perspective of production capacity layout characteristics, on the one hand, the core production areas continue to strengthen their advantages in industrial agglomeration. In regions with abundant resources of silicone rubber raw materials and strong industrial foundations, a complete industrial chain cluster covering raw material production, product processing, equipment manufacturing, and logistics transportation has been formed by integrating upstream and downstream enterprise resources. These regions, with advantages such as large-scale production, technology sharing, and cost synergy, have become the core supply bases for global silicone rubber products, accounting for over 70% of the total global production capacity. On the other hand, regional supporting production capacity is accelerating its implementation. In response to the problem of insufficient supply of high-end silicone rubber raw materials and dependence on external inputs in some regions, local governments have promoted the landing of silicone rubber production projects through investment promotion and policy support, filling the regional industrial gap. These projects usually focus on the demand of local advantageous downstream industries, such as projects close to the new energy vehicle industry cluster, with a focus on producing silicone rubber materials for power batteries; Projects located near the electronics industry base focus on the research and development of silicone rubber products for electronic packaging, achieving "nearby production and supply" and improving the collaborative efficiency of the industry chain.

Optimizing production capacity layout brings multiple industry impacts. For production enterprises, the construction of large-scale production capacity reduces unit production costs and enhances market competitiveness; Regional layout reduces logistics and transportation links, lowers supply chain risks, and improves response speed to market demand. For downstream industries, sufficient local supply ensures stable supply of raw materials, reduces procurement costs and inventory pressure, and helps downstream enterprises improve production efficiency and expand production capacity. For the industry as a whole, the rationalization of production capacity layout has promoted the optimization of resource allocation, avoided redundant construction and overcapacity, and promoted healthy competition and sustainable development in the industry.

It is worth noting that new construction projects generally attach great importance to environmental protection and sustainable development, and all supporting facilities such as waste gas treatment, wastewater recycling, and solid waste utilization are constructed. Low energy consumption production processes are adopted, which meets the requirements of the national "dual carbon" strategy. At the same time, the project construction process pays attention to the coordinated development with local industrial policies and ecological environment, and promotes the transformation of the silicone rubber industry towards green and high-end through technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Industry analysis indicates that in the future, the production capacity layout of silicone rubber will further concentrate in areas with concentrated resources, good industrial foundation, and high environmental requirements. The synergistic effect of regional industrial chains will continue to be highlighted, providing solid support for the high-quality development of the industry.
